Hey guys
I do not have the plastic fuel tank cover.
Wondering why I really need it. Was planning to install tank without it.
Your thoughts?

thanks

My concern would be metal to metal contact and the possibility of a spark. Pretty sure Breeze Automotive sells the cover.

It’s pretty easy to slip in after the fact. Mine took forever to show up.

Al little peace of mind having that cover, considering how low out roadsters ride. Auto wrecker perhaps?

During a moment of brain fade, I accidentally hit my tank hard with the trolley jack. Glad the protective cover was there.

Speaking of brain fade. I had a cover that I acquired with the salvaged fuel tank before I received the car. Thinking I would not need it ,I threw it away.
Dumb.
