Hello all,

Brandnew to the forum,, NOT a FFR owner yet, but hopefully as soon as possible. I recently sold my ULTIMA EVOLUTION, 2018. Self made ((With help from friends also)) had a Crate LS3 525 , and most options, as the factory offered,

The plan is to buy a TYPE 65 COUPE .. i need some help from you guys here on the forum,, because the kit is not delivered with VINCODE, as i guess all of you are aware of, and that will make the procedure a nightmare to register it in Iceland,
I know of a RHD car in UK,,, been trying to contact the owner. and there is one car In the Netherlands that got registered some years ago.,, i have been in contact with Hammink Performance, regarding that.
As the car will be registered as a BRANDNEW car,, the only engine solution is Coyote ,, or new modern engine that will pass new rules of emission

Think i will go for the independent rear suspension,

Kind regards

I recently returned from holiday in Iceland and it was by far the most magical holiday I've ever had in my entire life. It would be my dream to retire there and head the Icelandic-American car club!

On a Saturday night stroll in Reykjavik I ran into a bunch of people that had American cars - a 60s wagon, '65 Mustang, Mercury, etc. and I might presume you know these people.

Anyway, the car comes with an MSO (Manufacturer's Satement of Origin) and it has a serial number, which of course is engraved into the chassis. The serial number will contain in one way or another the chassis number, for example my roadster is FFR100D4453... This is your first step.

In the states, registration varies according to where you live, mine has a special California VIN code assigned by the state, and all my paperwork has both the serial number and California VIN code.

The good news is you're left-hand drive so there will be no special queue to order it. Coyote builds are popular and you will have plenty of support. For Europe/UK People have done everything from wipers to wiper squirters to backup lights to side markers. Ride height is about 4" but it can be raised to pass any inspections.

Best of luck in your build, and I'll be watching. (I'm already booking January 2024 holiday in Iceland)

Welcome. I built a roadster in Australia. We have very stringent rules here also. My build time was 7 years. I estimate it took me 2.5 years to modify so many items that I lost count. but got there in the end.
Will be happy to help if I can.

Cheers,

Nigel

Welcome and good luck as you begin the process of acquiring your kit and figuring out the registration process.

This is a good question:

Wow! Should I change my avatar?;)

Apparently I will also have to stop using the phrase 'up North' now!
