Figured it was easier to post all of this in a single thread…

I just received my E-STOPP electronic parking brake and I’m trying to sort out where I want to mount it. Planning to mount the push button on my center console next to the radio. Who here has used an E-STOPP and where did you mount the actuator? I am looking forward to not having to wrench my shoulder out trying to get my trans tunnel top mounted parking brake handle set!

I bought the long tube headers from Factory Five but they don’t have the O2 sensor provision. I know lots of folks just say to mount it on a single tube and call it a day, or mount it at the collector of the side pipe. I don’t like either of those options and would prefer to have a setup like FFR has on their website for a 302 with the O2/collector before the side pipe mount. Any idea how much having my current pipe cut and welded for that would cost? The pipes are already ceramic coated so I hate the thought of doing this but I need a good O2 sensor setup for possible future tuning.

Lastly, I have an APE hardtop for my roadster and want to ditch my stock FFR fiberglass framed low back seats but I know lots of the available high back seats will probably interfere with the hardtop. Other than Kirkeys, what other high back options are out there that I won’t have to do surgery onto get them to fit?

I’ll post some rebuild photos later since I’m getting really close to first start on the new motor!

Thanks!

I have an E-STOPP and really like it. I mounted mine on the rear quarter panel area on the driver's side. The picture below makes the angle between the actuator and the cable mounting bracket look more acute than it actually is, it works perfectly/smoothly. I also considered mounting it on the large cross member just below the upper trunk floor, but I installed the trunk flooring before I got the E-STOPP and it was going to be very difficult to drill holes without removing the floor. I did remove the beeper - it is really loud and annoying. I did not wire in the ignition feed so it can be activated when the engine is running. The button is mounted underneath the dash on the dash support bracket on the driver's side, it would be very hard to hit it accidentally and it is hidden from view. I also added an LED parking brake dash light so I know when the brake is on.

You can see where/how I mounted my E-Stopp here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?31167-Greek-Guys-Garage-Roadster-Build-9509-(Radiator-protection-screen)&p=415574&viewfull=1#post415574) and here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?31167-Greek-Guys-Garage-Roadster-Build-9509-(Radiator-protection-screen)&p=421237&viewfull=1#post421237).

I mounted mine in the tunnel. I also replaced the silver button with a black to match the rest of my buttons, there is nothing unique about that button if find you need to swap it.

The mounting flange of the APE top does not extend inward any further than the edge of the body so, as long as a seat wing doesn't extend out over top of the body, it will fit fine. Sorry for the lousy basic pic. The silver dot indicates where I installed my mounting ferrel. The red lines indicate approximately where the top will sit on the body. I used parts from this kit to mount it.

I used 2 of these which is what you see in the pic

The included bolt didn't work out but it is 1/4in coarse thread so you can easily find one to work.

BTW when you sit the top on the body it is fairly flexible. You could grab it at the lower corners near the door and move it in and out at least an inch each way

Curious for those with a top - Did you put anything on the paint where the top sits to help protect it from rubbing or impacting the paint? I have a 427hardtop and mine is off at paint and body now. Wondering if laying down some PPF or something where the top sits can provide some protection. Obviously not ideal as this would be visible when the tops not on.. i just don't want to trash new paint.

Does the E-Stopp actuator fit in this area without cutting the tunnel cross-brace? Or was that just to clear your shifter position?

That was just for the shifter, no need to modify tunnel for e-stopp.

You can check out post #78 in my build thread for how I mounted mine here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?42007-Mike-in-Texas-FFR-Roadster-Build-Almost-to-Go-Kart!&p=494922&viewfull=1#post494922).

I used this button for it. Just make sure if you use an aftermarket button that it is latching. https://billetautomotivebuttons.com/products/22mm-park-brake-symbol-billet-push-button-switch

I used a lot of the billet buttons and like them a lot.

I also removed the annoying beeper that comes with it.

Yes, I used some clear bra film on mine. You can find it in rolls rather than pre-cut to fit a specific car. I had a 12 or 15 inch wide piece that I made mine out of. I set the top in place and put masking tape on the body just beyond the outer edge of the top. Took the top off and made up pieces to match the curve and about 1.5 inches wide.

I got a wide roll of 3M clear bra off eBay. Some creative trimming and time, it will work out well and protects the paint.
