I had no idea you could do this. He also sprayed it with a ceramic detailer and it allegedly looks even shinier.

Interesting how it goes from LH drive to RH Drive to LH Drive to RH drive.

Come on.

I recently saw a truck with the same wrap. It looks good from about 10 feet away. Any closer, and you can see all the flaws.

The reason it looks that way is he's using it as a "background" while filming himself. Kinda' like a green screen, but it always shows in reverse. That's why the building numbers are backwards too! Check his phone camera in the drive shot, shows it all.

He claims it only took them 2 hours to wrap the car because it's a small car. This may be true, but not including removing the windshield, headlight buckets, rollbar, brake lights, etc.

I think he said it took two hours to apply the protective coating to the car. I'm sure it took a lot longer to do the wrap. I also noticed what looked like a large blemish on the left rear quarter. It has to be very difficult to get a perfect wrap on a car with so many compound curves.

I saw a roadster done in a brushed aluminum wrap a couple of years ago…it too looked OK from about 25 feet but up closer not so much.

Correct it was the protective coating

I agree. I have seen several wrapped cars in chrome, gold chrome, purple chrome, etc. They are 25 footers. A couple of these were a Lambo and a Rolls Royce on Rodeo Dr, so high end work. (money and no taste???)

Around here, Teslas are the trendy car to drive at the moment, and the "in" thing is to have your Tesla wrapped. There are now tons of shops that specialize in wrapping cars and have gotten quite good at it. In case it needs to be pointed out, wrap is never going to look as good as a full-shine, buffed, waxed, ceramic-coated paint job. Where wrap really holds its own is in matte finishes, IMO. I've seen some Tesla's done in matte finishes that are absolutely stunning (for a Tesla :p). So, I guess what I'm saying is that if you're expecting a wrap to shine like a show-quality paint job you're going to be disappointed. But if you're looking for an "out of the ordinary" (matte, brushed, metallic, etc.) finish there are installers out there (at least around here) that can do some pretty amazing things with wrap. If the wrap job you're looking at is showing a ton of flaws, that just a poor wrap job. Go find a better installer.
