Hi,

I have 17" rims on my MK3, but I need (documents) 15" with 235/60 and 255/70.
Not the best, I know, but I have to deal with it.

Which Rim widht is good for that tyres. Both (front and rear) should have the same look on the rim. Not one straight side, the other a big bow.

Thanks for your help. Pics would be great!

Both tire sizes will fit an 8" wide wheel. the 255 will fit up to a 10" wide. I would probably use an 8" front and 9" rear for those tires.

Hi Gorden,
thx for your info, do you have some pics, hard to find on the web, with explanation of the rims...
8" front and 9" back, would have the same tyre bow on the side?

255/70 is an oddball size for these cars. How did you arrive at that? They measure almost 29” tall and are going to cause fit issues unless you go to a much higher than customary rear ride height. The 235/60 in front is a common size (26.1” diameter) and will work in front without problems. This could also be used in the rear as well quite a few other sizes (255/60, 275/60, 275/50, 295/50). The manufacturer recommended rim width for both the 235/60 and 255/70 is 6.5-8.5”.
