Missing oldguy668 in the drivers seat! :D

Olli, no sticker yet, because the registration isn't completed. I'm working on another windshield that's 2.5" lower than the stock one.

One item that's missing is SHINE. All the chrome and polished aluminum has been hit with a red scotchbrite, and the body is black basecoat with satin clear.

Maybe I'm a bit biased but my compliments on your choice of finish! :)
Do you happen to know what % gloss they used?

Jeff

oldguy668

Jeff, it is around a 35% gloss. We just kept adding flattener until the test panels came out the way I wanted. I just cleaned off all the handprints with Windex and went over it with Meguire's Quick Detailer. It did not pick up any additional gloss, but it feels as smooth as a baby's butt.

Crappy picture but more to come. Clean install with no wires on top. The Mustang overflow tank fits like a glove and all the stock PCV hoses dropped right on.

1. They are Hot Rod roll bars cut down 6"
2. I cut off the hump in the trunk lid. You can just see the LED-lighted plate frame on the lower pan
3. Trunk is triggered by a door lock actuator. Ignition key has a push-to-choke feature that energizes the actuator.
4. Hidden body mounts front and rear. The rears are a little wimpy but easy to do over.
5. I don't need no stinkin' hood scoop cause I ain't got no carburetor
6. Because I could
7. That's Mike Everson's piece. Looks good up close.
8. Coming soon
9. Not under pressure, just stretched out a little from my fat ***

Excellent, that's the direction I was thinking of going with the paint. Good to see an example.

A spray bottle with an H2O/Simple Green mix along with a dry towel works well too and is about all mine ever sees. Every so often I'll hit it with the QD afterwards. Shhh, don't tell anybody though---don't want to blow my "not a waxer" persona.

It looks fantastic Joe!

Nice! Where did you mount the comp? That's a darn clean install.

This location requires a few mods to the harness. Once you get into it, you'll find that a couple of the sub-harnesses need extending, which is really no big deal. The ECM goes through the firewall and sits on a block of foam that's on top of Mike's under dash panel. The hole is slightly off center to miss the dash hoop vertical support.

You got me again! These pictures are really a Photoshopped 1/25 scale model. My real MK4 is 60% done and for sale for $63,500.

I don't think I've seen (noticed?) it before, but the side louver "delete" has got me thinking ...... along with the shortened Hot Rod rollbars.

Both are very subtle until pointed out and look good.

Joe,

Along with the super clean look you have some sort of clip on wiper. Did you have any issues at the saftey inspection with it? also would you mind sharing the make and model of the wiper. Thanks and once again great look on the build.

Rob, it's from Torreson Marine, manufactured by Sea Dog.

6651

It requires a few strategically placed spacer blocks and it only really works when mounted as I show it. I don't know if it will pass until I go for the safety inspection next week.

Joe, I would ditch the wiper, (even though it is pretty cool)they only need to work as designed. I have gotten 3 cars through with no wipers in MAss. They are not technically required.

Plus the inspector will be too distracted to say anything about it if his attention is not drawn to it. . ..

Can I come look at the car? I am working on a Coyote myself. Supposed to pick the Motor up at Forte's Friday.

Step two complete. Got a title, reg and plates today. $168 for plates, title and sales tax on the mail order tires. $500 for full boat insurance, including collision, liability and comprehensive, all based on an agreed value of $35,000.

Next stop is the RMV Motorist Assistance Center to get the VIN into the computer with the emissions exemption.

You gotta love it when a plan comes together.....

BTW, the insurance is through Grundy and the agent is Anthony & Malcolm, South Central Street in Haverhill (978-373-5654 ask for Fred Malcolm).

I love it! Came out awesome! Are you happy w/ the Coyotte?

Yes, except for its sheer size. The rear corner of the DS valve cover is right up against the footbox, and I had to put a bubble in the footbox so my size 10's could fit on the gas pedal without jamming up on the brake pedal.
