Is there any reason I couldn't put two fluid reservoirs side by side right here? I could just drill two large thru holes in the footbox (still smaller than reservoir OD) and then sit the bottom of them flush to the aluminum with a little silicone. Would be easy access and keep brake fluid away from the engine. Any downside to this?174318

I am no expert on car construction, but as an engineer that location would be fine as long as the top fluid level in the reservoirs is above the inlet hose connection on the master cylinders. So don't sink them too far into the footbox.

Stuck an extended tape measure there and closed the hood on mine. Shows 7" of height available. I wouldn't use the full 7". But that's the available space.

I was pretty happy with the execution of this idea. The top of the footbox is 7 degrees off of square, so I milled the mounting flange at that angle and then the bottom of the reservoir ends up flush to the box. I used a bead of silicone under the reservoir to seal off the foot box.
