I understand that the curvature of the hoods are different, but I need to know if there is a difference in regard to the underside and amount of clearance from the top of the engine. My engine is a 302 with an explorer upper and lower intake. I ordered a phenolic spacer, but I believe the size I ordered may be too big. Some other builders have installed the size spacer I ordered without any problems, but not on a MKIV.
Thanks

The distance from the top of the intake to the bottom of the hood should not have changed from the Mk3 to the Mk4. I am not sure how big of a spacer you are using so we are unsure if you will have any issues. There is usually plenty of room on top of 302 engines. You would have to try to fit it in the car. If there was a problem you could ditch the spacer or install a bigger hood scoop. =)
I would ask around in the Roadster section to see if anyone has run your intake set up with an earlier model. If it fit in theirs it should fit in your Mk4.

Well I ordered a 1" spacer, and from other builders' experiences it seems it should fit. I will put the body in place and see how the hood falls and that should give me an answer in certainty. :)
