So my dad came over to visit and I'm showing him around the car. Loves it. I get around to the pedal box and I'm explaining what i did in that area. before I could say anything, he pushed the clutch pedal in with his hand to test it out. I dont' have everything dialed in, nor do I have a clutch pedal travel stop. I thought I heard the sound of plastic breaking. I check the plunger on the clutch switch, and where before it used to stop just before the notch on the plastic shaft, now it travels until the notch is halfway in the body of the switch.

Does anyone have a picture of their switch at "max depression?"

I don't have the wiring done yet, so I can't check functionality. This will drive me to lose unnecessary sleep over something that in the big scheme of things isn't a big deal. Just trying to get over the mental block that it could be broken.

Thanks!

I don't have any pictures of my installations (I've done it a couple times) but the Factory Five Coyote installation instructions have multiple pictures. https://www.factoryfive.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Coyote-Gen-3-Fitment-roadster-rev-1G.pdf pages 75 - 80. I'm assuming you have the actual switch from the Ford Performance Coyote control pack and the mounting brackets from the Factory Five Coyote installation kit. Makes a difference whether you're installing a cable clutch setup or hydraulic. Both are covered in the instructions as they're quite different. It helps to put a VOM or continuity checker on the switch terminals and mark on the plunger where it closes. It's short of the complete movement of the plunger. No need to push it all the way to where it stops.

The ford clutch switch does not depress all the way. There should be about 1/4 inch of the shaft sticking out at full depress or more.Like Paul said you can hook it up and check for how far to press when it achieves continuity. When my coyote didn’t start I tried to make it depress further, heard the pop of plastic. At that point the plunger went in all the way. It was broken and I had to buy a new one from Tasca auto parts. If yours is broken you can jump it with a piece of wire between the contacts.

Playing it safe and buying a new one. Then I'm keeping everyone away from it until I can put a clutch pedal stop in place!!

Thanks

Same thing happened to mine. You'll notice that the stem of the switch has teeth on it. It's supposed to be adjustable via moderate physical agitation :P. I knew after I opened it up and saw the friction collar. Just pull it back out and you'll be fine.

EDIT: for more peace of mind, do take the switch apart and check. It's super easy to put back together and you'll have the added assurance of visually inspecting it to make sure nothing's actually broken.

Closing this out in case anyone else searches the topic, as it sounds others have had the same problem.

At facultyofmusic's recommendation, I disassembled the switch. VERY easy. I assumed being a cheap plastic switch that it would be a "one time use" type plastic body. You could take it apart, but likely would break some plastic tabs off or something making reassembly impossible. Not the case. the harness side of the body slides forward very easily.

Inside it's a very basic switch with a serrated plunger as faculty mentioned. Good news, it doesn't look like mine broke, but rather fully adjusted to the rear most plunger serration. if that makes sense.

I have the switch positioned as far aft as possible in the bracket. I plan to install a clutch pedal adjustable travel stop to the 3/4 tube running alongside the pedal. Once seats are in and I get the pedals in a comfortable position, I'll set that and be done with it.

Thanks again for everyone's help!
