Hi all,

Just wondering what did you guys do to plug the hole around the door latching bolt?
Seems like a regular grommet will not do it since it's too tight or too large depending where around the bolt.
Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure how others have set up the door latch post but I drilled the hole only big enough to get the threads through so there is no hole to patch.

the guy that did my body work filled it in before painting.

Same here. As long as the steel bracket on the back side is tight against the fiberglass, didn't see any downside of doing it that way.

Fender washer with the same size rubber washer then pulled it snug to the bracket behind.

Hello,
I masked off the fiberglass and the striker bolt washer and then filled the gap with Sikaflex 221 Polyurethane Sealant/Adhesive.
Amazon.com: SIKA - Sikaflex-221, Black, Multi-Purpose Sealant/Adhesive, Polyurethane Fast Curing Sealant, 10.1 fl. Oz Cartridge : Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/Sikaflex-221-Polyurethane-Adhesive-Sealant-Cartridge/dp/B00NW5LWHA/ref=sr_1_2_mod_primary_new?crid=2DMSXXD6EWVJW&keywords=sikaflex%2B221%2Bblack%2Bmulti%2Bpurpose% 2Bpolyurethane%2Bsealant%2B%2F%2Badhesive&qid=1667066379&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjI5IiwicXNhIjoiMC44MSIsInFzcCI6IjA uMDAifQ%3D%3D&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=Sikaflex%2B221%2BPolyurethane%2BSealant%2F Adhesive%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-2&th=1)

I know it isn't pertinent to this discussion, but this product is great for sealing large gaps in sheet metal corners as well.

That’s an interesting option.
And the replacement info is great!
