Hello FFR forum
I'm wondering if anyone here has delayed their order. Be advised, I'm ENTIRELY just curious about how it works. Can I delay it a few months? Or does any delay put me at the back of the line and now I've got another 10 months (or whatever the current lead times are) to wait?
I've just had a few things take place in my life and situation where delaying my order could play out to my benefit, but I'm also fully capable of taking the order as intended next month. I also realize once they start building my frame I'm locked in. My date is 11/26, so I'm guessing my build will start very soon.
Thanks y'all.

The build won’t begin until they contact you for a final confirmation of your configuration and options. I can’t speak for FFR but wouldn’t think that a delay would put you to the end but rather just allow a few yo leapfrog past you moving you down in the order by a couple of months. Only one way to find out…contact them!

Contact FF. I'm sure they will delay your order and not put you at the back of the line. I had them contact me and ask if I wanted to receive mine earlier because someone who had ordered the same as I did wanted to delay. Don't wait until the last minute. Give FF a chance to do something.
FWIW, my kit was supposed to be ready last week of December, but I was contacted a few weeks ago that it would be ready early. So, Stewart is picking it up this week with a TX delivery on Oct 31. So, you may be contacted a bit earlier than anticipated unless my order's early completion was an anomaly.
I recently delayed my order. It didn't put me to the end of the line, but you can't choose a new date. They will try to find a cancelation or someone to swap with -- somewhere near your request, but no guarantee. In my case I ended up filling a canceled spot in April (vs my March request). Totally reasonable to me.
My bigger concern is avoiding any price increase, which IMO seems overdue given the state of things.

I may delay mine as well, although I’m a coupe 65. I’d want to make sure the price stays the same though.
It’ll be interesting to see how the demand for these kits comes down in the next year. I have a feeling things are going to take more of a down turn when the cash flow slows.

For sure, on both accounts. I suppose the shipping quote may change, based on the price of diesel.
Also demand as well. I'm curious what the current lead times are? I ordered in mid February of 2022 and got a late November 2022 date. Are they still at 10 months?
And with Covid, I wonder how many people pulled the trigger on a kit because they were bored and needed something to do. Now that things are "relatively" back on track, are the distractions of daily life taking precedence over hobbies with large investments up front? And that being said, with the "looming" recession for 2023, how will that effect FFR?
Regardless, I've given my situation some thought and I'm taking the delivery as nature intended.

For many of us outside of the US the underlying factor is the unfavourable shift in exchange rates.
Since ordering my kit at the open house in June the cost in Canadian dollars has currently increased by $2155!
I find myself watching the currency markets every day and contemplating the idea of perhaps deferring my order to a later date when the exchange rates improve.
I do know one thing though and that is one way or the other I'm NOT cancelling my order.

JJK-
What kit did you buy, I ordered a roadster and of course told them I’d take it early if they had someone delay… mine is due the week of the 11th of December…. Just curious (and a little jealous of course).
Joe, I have no idea why I was contacted about an early delivery instead of someone else, perhaps due to the specific build. My kit has an IRS, front and rear Wilwood brakes, and PS, nothing else too special.
