TKO 500 on 1965 289-Cant get it to shift into 1st, 2nd,3rd

Hi Everyone!!

My build is going very slow. Seem to struggle at every step.

I finally received my TKO500. Brand new.

Struggled putting it in because i installed the engine first.

Pulled the engine and stalled everything at once. Just like the book said. ( dont wait for big ticket items for the last) lol

So after installation the shifter was way off. So i purchased a MDL 2.3 inch forward shifter. I installed it a couple of days ago.

Shouldnt i be able to move the shifter into all of its gears even though there isnt any oil in it yet?

I can shift it into 4,5th and reverse but not 1,2 and 3. I dont get it. its brand new.

I went on utube and it said it happens sometime so just removed the mid shifter cover and made sure the parts are all lined up. They were.

So i did some studying. Learned alot about the TKO gear systems. one of the items with dry transmission delivery is the syncho gears get stuck.
Well i filled the transmission with Dexron 3 oil. 3.6 quarts. My lift has an additional lift which allows me to lift the wheels. So i lifted the rear wheels and turned them. Back and forth to get the oil on all of the gears. Went back and sat in my seat which by the way there has TO BE A SECRET IN GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR LOLOLOL. Anyway there it was, first, second, third, fourth, fifth and reverse gears all shifting smoothly.
