It's blocking for me today, shoot Slick Sand on warm days block on cool days.Guide coat tells me what kind of shape the body is in, low spots, low spots.

Hey good luck to you. I have been reading about doing your own body work and Im going to give it a try. From what I know it sounds like your thru the worst of it, congrats and keep us posted, what color you going with? I must have changed my mind at least 10 times and I still have 10 months tell I pick up mine.

Color will be 1996 Porsche metallic iris blue with Wimbledon white stripes.Have about 40 hrs in the body work blocking and spraying 3 gal Slick Sand .Put body back on today just to check how everything fits and then it off to the painter.

Wow, 3 gallons sounds like a lot.
How many coats is that?
Or said another way, how much does it take to put 3 wet coats on?
I'm spraying today if all goes well.

3 gallons does sound like a lot, unless you're sanding in between coats. I used a little under 2 gallons for 3 coats, sanded, then resprayed just a couple small areas.

3 gal. holy cow!!! Used 1 gal on mine, and its as straight as an arrow.

A lot of the Slick Sand ended up on the driveway but it's straight as a arrow now.
