rear tire width

I am currently building a MK4 roadster with IRS and Wilwood rear brakes. Halibrand 17 wheels 315/35 Toyo Proxes tires. Without spacers the tires are against the shock springs. Using 1/4 in spacers there is just 1/4 in space between tire and spring. Anyone else run into this problem?

Couple of questions. Are you looking at the rear in the air with the suspension at full droop? If so, everything will be all wonky and you can't really draw any conclusions. Have you aligned the rear end yet? There's a fair bit of adjustability and that will play a role in how things end up. If you haven't aligned the rear end and don't have the car sitting on its wheels, you can't really make any meaningful assessments on how things fit.

Edit: also, FWIW FFR techs don't monitor this forum so you're better off posting questions in the roadster section of the forum.
