Hi all, I have a Sniper on a 302, trying to figure out how do deal with the wiring mess. I’m thinking about a weather resistant box on top of the passenger footwell to hold the connectors, fuse, and fuel pump relay. The key on and fuel pump wires would be passed through the firewall, the rest would be routed around the engine compartment etc.

I also have an issue where, with the battery in the trunk, the power leads are nowhere near long enough to reach, and the manual says not to make those leads longer. I do have heavier gauge wire for that, but…?

What solution have you come up with?

Those are waterproof connectors. Just tuck them away out of sight somewhere.

You can make the power lead longer. But use a significantly larger gauge wire. Sort of like making a power connection away from the battery.

Thanks. Nice to know those connectors are waterproof. But “tuck them away out of sight” kinda means an enclosure of some sort anyway.

Hi Paul. I had the same concern. Here's one idea: I opted to install a small alum craft box (powder coated to match the firewall and all the other alum parts) attached to the firewall via two threaded rods just long enough to accept acorn nuts. I neatly "stuffed" the Sniper fuse and pump relay in the box. Makes for a fairly clean installation. As for the battery cables, I opted for the Breeze Automotive battery relocation hardware to the engine compartment. Greatly reduces cable run length. Only down side if you can call it that is it adds the weight of the batt to the front end.

173639I used an aluminum box I had left over from a a/c unit vav box . Probably could get one at an hvac shop .

Coil on the firewall, CD box on the top of the passenger compartment, relay and fuse on the inside of the PS footbox ... all show in this photo. I tucked the connectors for now into the back of the intake manifold which looks large in the first photo, but actually doesn't look too bad with everything going on back there. I do like the box idea though.

I recently converted to a Holley Terminator X Stealth from EFI System Pros (highly recommend them). I completely undid all the Holley harnesses and trimmed it down to fit the small Cobra engine compartment. Part of the process was relocating where those extra bits are tucked away. As far as the battery runs, I used substantially gauged wires directly from the battery to different boxes from Holley via weatherpack connectors.
