Wanting to order a heater for my MK4 kit, FF doesn't have any in stock. Is the Vintage Air part #506101 the same unit as FF sells? I can find plenty of those in stock from other suppliers.

My kit supplied by FFR was Vintage Air part number #506100. Not sure what the difference is, but probably something very insignificant.

Well, at the time. the optional heater I ordered from FFR was the same one as what Vintage Air sold on their website.
FFR may have added in the defogger outlet plenums and bezels, and under-dash ball vents though. They wouldn't necessarily be the style required by others buying a heater direct from Vintage Air, say for their hot rod or classic car. Those items were still available direct from Vintage Air, but I think would have to be ordered independent from the heater...
The Vintage heater I rec'd back when I built my roadster (2009), is different than the Gen II model they sell today. My heater had four outlets, two on each side. Ran a pair of duct hoses to the footbox vents, and another pair to the defogger outlets. I'm not sure what the model number was, but it was a great feature, and the heater works wonderfully.
This is the style of heater that was supplied for the roadster back when I built my car.
