Do a search online for 3M carbon fiber printed sheets that are self-adhesive. You'll need to cut a pattern and then cut it out of the material.

Looks like the adhesive backed real carbon fiber spats that Factory Five used to produce. They quit making them around 2009 or so. I have a set on my car and would like to find another pair.

These guys do the clear invisigard specifically cut for the MK4. They might be able to help you out https://www.autotrimdesign.net/mfg-subcat-item.asp?cID=935&scID=937&mID=-1&Format=
Jeff, on amazon they sell carbon fiber/vinyl, with a self-adhesive back. I'd attach the actual page from amazon, but sadly I don't know how to do that. I was looking at it awhile back as a possible protection for the new paint. Now I'm more freaked out about putting it on the new paint. Kind of a double-edged sword!
On a side note, no pun intended, does anyone know why did my avatar picture rotated onto its side?
Let's try this and see if it works.

I think it’s due to how you take the picture - portrait vs landscape view. I’ve found that either picture view will post correctly if before you post, you edit the photo slightly - for example, adjust the borders. Then post the edited photo.

I'm guessing both of you use iPhone/iPad to take photos. It's a known problem with those two.
Best fix I know is to open the photo with Paint on a Windows system, rotate to correct orientation, resize, save. From that saved photo upload to the forums.
If you're a "Complete Apple Guy" and have no such "Windows system," I got nothing to help ya.

I use Android and have the same issue. Portrait photos show fine, landscape ones show fine on the phone and my computer, but once uploaded they're rotated. So before uploading them I rotate them once, save, then back, save, and then upload. Very tedious.

There are two ways for the phone to save "landscape" photos: a) record the photo without rotating the data and write "rotated 90" (or "rotated 270") in the EXIF data, or b) actually save a rotated image and not bother with the EXIF rotation tag.
I've found that Apple products do (a) where my old HTC phones did (b). It's not surprising that other Android devices are doing (a).
With (a) your phone and browsers/image viewers read the EXIF and act accordingly. When you upload to a forum, they often strip the EXIF.
side note: for a long times phone cameras recorded "location" in the EXIF data by default as well. Awfully nice of them to turn that off (and give you the option to enable it) in recent years.
OK, so it's a portrait photo. I just went into my photos, took that photo and rotated it to the right, figuring that it would put the photo in the correct configuration when I uploaded as an avatar, deleted the sideways one, then saved the new right rotated photo, saved that and it is still showing it rotated to the left as my avatar! I have no idea what's happening, and while I appreciate everything that was suggested, I have no idea of what was being discussed about EXIF, whatever that is. I'm about as without tech knowledge as you can get and still survive in this world. I guess I'll have to check in with David to see if he can fix it for me.

I purchased Orion 3d Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap (ebay) and made my own. 12" x 60" was less than $10. Made a paper templet and trimmed until I liked it, then cut the wrap.

After skinning Carbon Fiber parts for my MKIV, making a template/ mold and then laying up the CF would be a doable project..... Looks like I have a new project....
