I am finally making progress on a Challenge Car that was purchased as a package deal with a completed Roadster. I am posting under the Roadster Forum because it will be a street legal build.

The package was purchased last year and it became immediately evident why is was a package deal…..there was a VIN switch involved. Fortunately, with help of an awesome AZ. MVD inspector and a detective out of Phoenix, I have been able to restore the VINs and have cleared registration on both cars….Thanks AZ. I initially intended for it to be a project with my son-in-law but he just doesn’t have the time at this point in his life so I am on my own.

This car had an interesting life and was destined for the crusher. Since the purchase last year I have been accumulating parts, taking an auto paint class at the local JC, media blasted the entire frame and re-welded the cage where it was cut away to facilitate removing the seats. I decided to modify the frame since it was already cut in order to make access and egress easier for the occupants. The frame is at the powder-coater and I should be able to start re-assembly in a couple weeks.

I want to thank the countless members of the forum who have already contributed to the build by providing inexpensive, and occasionally free parts.

Photos to follow.
