It appears that I'm the only newbie that can't figure out how to install the hinges for the hood.
I set up the hinge and brackets as shown on page 401 of the Manual.
Installed the hinge bracket and the hinge as shown on page 402
However there is no way I can make the hood bracket and hinge meet as cleanly as shown on page 403. The hinges are too far apart to mate evenly with the hood bracket.
I met another builder in southern Ga. who took a big hammer to the hinges and took all the bends out of them (flattened them to make them fit).
Before I do something drastic and take a hammer to my brackets does anyone have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

Mine fit without bending. So don't do that. Not necessary. Just wanted to get that out there. It's late here. I'll take a look at the instructions tomorrow and post some pictures of mine. Was some months ago, but I followed the directions and didn't have any issues.

Thank you for taking the time to to help. I know I must missing a step because no one else on the forum appears to be having the issue. Look forward to the pictures to see where I'm going wrong.

Here are pictures of mine installed as of this AM before I break down for paint. Hope this helps. I do remember assembling and taking them apart several times before I got the orientation right. The drawing in the manual is OK but at least for me took a few times. Maybe that's where you're at. Once everything oriented properly, lined up fine for me and works OK. There's always the possibility you received two lefts or two rights of something. Or that something was bent improperly. Those things can happen. I spent more time getting the latch located and working properly. But that's another story.

Hello Edward
Thank you for the pictures. It appears that I may have the wrong hinges. I received my shipment during the pandemic and I had shortages of some parts and duplicates of others. The hood, the radiator brackets, the control arm castle nuts were incorrect (3 times). However I must to give tech support high praise in that they were quick to solve the issues.
I am not yet able to send pictures so you can see what I have, but one obvious thing is that your hinges have an approximate 130* angle while mine are about 90* also the offset on mine is about 2 1/2" yours appears to be less.
I'll reach out to tech support and see if I can send them pictures.
I have been following your build thread and it has been very helpful.
Thank you.

I ended up taking the grille cowling off to fit the hinges then reinstalled to make adjustments

Thanks again for your help. Bent the tabs to the hood brackets about 1/8" and fit perfectly. Got the idea from your comments as to" bent improperly" .
I'm off to setting the doors :( probably going to need some hints from the pros.
Have a good day

Question on your upper grill mounts:
Is this what you have on yours (the sequence of parts) <grill><condenser bracket><radiator mount tab><hood hinge bracket> ?
Are there any spacers to space the <radiator mount tab> away from the <condenser bracket> ?
I'm still mocking up my grill area and I'm they guy that may have the incorrect radiator. I would need 0.750 inch long spacers between the condenser bracket and the radiator tab. That's going to move my hinge pivot bracket back quite a bit.
In the A/C install PDF they show a picture of the "truck hinge pivot bracket". They say to add 7/16 inch spacers on top of the bracket UNDER the radiator tab. This really isn't possible.
Looking forward to your response.

This is the exact sequence of the assembly in my truck build: Grill bracket (with nutserts as shown in the instructions) -> 5/8" spacers -> condenser brackets -> radiator brackets -> hood hinges (top only) -> flange bolts. After a lot of mocking up, this is the only setup that provided the necessary clearance for everything plus allowed me to set the whole assembly at the proper angle for the engine covers and hood used in my build. It's been over a year. Don't remember if what I'm describing is exactly what the instructions show. But it's how my nearly completed build is sitting right now. One caveat that may/may not matter is I didn't use the Factory Five A/C - heat kit. I used a Vintage Air system with a Vintage Air 03032-OFV condenser. I fabricated my own mounting brackets. Similar to what Factory Five shows in their instructions but specific to my build to fit properly since the mounting locations were slightly different.

Thanks for the reply. And for the record, I'm using Factory Five condenser and mounting brackets (hardlines now come preattached to the condenser). But my evaporator and other parts are Vintage Air.
