View Full Version : Ford 302/347 Radiator Hose Solution
I have installed a Blueprint 347 in my Coupe '65. The engine is complete with accessories including a thermostat housing with a vertical engine exit. The tension adjustor rod and drive belt is in the way for using a horizontal exit port. Has anyone found a correct hose with inline filler that gets up, over, and then down in the direction of the radiator tunnel opening? I have pieced together 90 degree, 45 degree, and inline filler tube to make the connection to the radiator but it has several connections and hose clamps that doesn't look good. It is functional and will work, but I am hoping someone has found an OEM or aftermarket hose combination that results in fewer connection and a cleaner look.
Please let me know if anyone else has the same experience and has a good solution. Thanks.

Don't ask me where I got it. It was a forum member many years ago but I also have a 347 and it works great.
Maybe other can recall that have the same?

A CSR Performance CSR-914C filler neck + a TD Motion "Cobra Earl" (https://tdmotion.com/product/td-motion-billet-ford-thermostat-housing-302-thermostat-housing-302-351w/) right angle thermostat housing might get you there.

I used a thermostat housing intended for an earlier engine. The angle is closer to 45degrees and works much better for the direct hose to the radiator. Parts stores should have them but I found some on Amazon. The 90 degree housing I had on originally didn’t work well for the application.

Another recommendation for Cobra Earl - Not a coupe, but this shows the idea...

Since this picture I have gone to Breeze stainless radiator lines and really like them.

Here's a picture of the set-up I referenced previously. The hose outlet is rotatable. The only thing I don't like about it is the "clocking" of the overflow hose fitting relative to the outlet. I might change the NPT-to barb fitting to a 45 or 90 degree version at some point.
Note that it clears the belt & high-mounted alternator that I'm using.

Thanks for the photo. I looked at their web site and they are indicating the complete assembly is currently unavailable. Haven't been able to contact anyone there because of weekend. Will call tomorrow. Thanks again for your help.

Who's website? and I don't understand your comment "complete assembly". You need to buy the filler neck and right angle piece from 2 different sources: for the filler neck there are multiple vendors, CSR Performance, Summit, Amazon, etc., and TD Motion for the right angle piece.
Earl
The Company is "TDMotion". They show a "302-427W Ford Ultra Thermostat Housing Kit" that is the lower thermostat housing and an upper filler neck combined. Currently indicates "unavailable"

Well I guess your stuck then if you want to buy their combo. I just bought the right angle piece from them and moved on to the CSR neck.

No sir. I appreciate the recommendation. I just assumed you had used the complete assembly from TDMotion. Thanks for offering the alternative. The complete unit was pretty pricy anyway. Thanks again

Hello,
I used a conventional right angle neck for a 302/347, Dorman 902-305 Filler Neck (supplied by FFR), a cut to fit Gates 22150 Radiator Hose, Boig's BMS-107 CoolTubes
