I have recently ordered my engine - BP 347 carb

I am in need of fuel pump recommendations for this engine for my coupe. I am not anywhere near an expert in this and would greatly appreciate your opinion and recommendations.

Sincerely,

are you thinking mechanical or electric? with a carb, you'd need a pressure regulator or two to get the pressure low enough w/ an electric pump. most recommend in tank electric pumps b/c they're quieter and stay cooler. I have a Walbro, but also have EFI on my system which needs a higher pressure.

Double check with BPE, but I think they usually ship a fuel pump with the engine. I know mine came with a pump, but that was for an EFI setup.

If it were me, and the timing cover has a fuel pump cover, then I would remove it and install a mechanical pump.

If the timing cover does not have a removeable fuel pump blocking plate, then I would go with an external Carter electric low-pressure pump. However, if you install a low-pressure in-tank unit, then later on decide to go EFI, you could add a surge tank with a high-pressure pump and use the low-pressure in-tank pump to fill the surge tank. Just make sure the low-pressure pump is also a high-volume pump.

My nickels worth.
