I will come back to the Factory Five family again in a couple of years. Will wait for them to fully develop and better de-bug the truck kit and try that one again. Building my truck was fun (most of the time! LOL ) and am now really enjoying watching master builders such as Paul (edwardb) and Erik (Eric W Treves) take things to a far higher level than I’m capable of.
For now have gone back to (what is apparently) an old love of mine…introducing Foxbody Mustangs # 4 and 5.
It’s way more difficult (and quite costly) to find a nice one these days and seeing as I’m doing an LS swap again, didn’t want one that was too pristine just to (in some folks eyes) mutilate it.
Fox 4, the black one, was average Canadian market price, but has a nice bolt on modified 5.0, rear suspension upgrades and a five lug conversion. As I started disassembling it however, was quite disappointed to find drivers side floor pan completely rotted out due to the sunroof drains doing their work inside the passenger compartment! The rotted rear quarters I was aware of.
Enter Fox #5, the blue one. It was a deal I simply couldn’t pass up on! $1400 Canadian (currently around $1000.00 US). The wheels are junk, no engine or trans, but the car is really solid.
Battle plan now is to make one really nice one out of the two and then do my second turbo LSx swap. This time an L33 all aluminum LS. Also shown are CNC’d 243 heads, VS 7875 Gen 2.5 turbo, Fast Intake, 4L80E and some really nice turbo hot side parts.
In the meantime here are few photos of what I’ll be doing….
