I have a 33 hot rod gen 2 with a 351 Windsor from a 1984 Ford F150 with stock oil pan. Is there a lower profile oil pan you would recommend that will work with my electric power steering to give me an inch or two more ground clearance. I understand I will also have to modify/change my pickup tube from my stock tube.

I used the ford racing rear sump pan from summit on my 351w but in the gen 1 chassis with no problems related to steering motor. Back then you had to rotate the motor a bit and drill new holes in the p/S motor mount but that was it. No ground clearance problems as it was above frame low point.

do you know how deep the pan was?
I went with a 7" deep Champ, it holds 8 quarts of oil. Picked it up from Gordon Levy. You will definitely need to change the pick up tube. The Champ pan thus far after 4200 miles has been spot on, no leaks or issues.

Sorry don't know but it was stock, nothing special. However, my 351 had dipstick in the timing cover and changing to the rear sump pan meant that the dipstick was moved to the driver side of oil pan. I ended up just tapping the old hole and used a 1/8 pipe plug to seal it off. The new pan may have come with dipstick but I just don't remember.

FMAN,
I checked out the link in your reply for the Champ pan... (thanks!) it says it only works with a 351 with 4 bolt mains? Not sure why it wouldn't work with 2 bolt mains. What was yours?

I am running the Canton Racing Pan: https://www.cantonracingproducts.com/products/15-690-for-ford-351w-fox-body-mustang-rear-t-sump-street-pan.html I had to add 1/2" spacers to my motor mounts. It does mess with pinion angle when your raise the motor so keep an eye on that.
