Got my chrome passenger roll bar today and was surprised at the amount of defects in the chrome plating. The hoop to support bar weld joint has a ring of what looks to be uncoated scars. There's also a 1/8in spot on the loop. Is this a normal amount of defects? Did y'all get it like this?

Below average, both in welding and plating. Perservering with it will only lead to heartache. Notify FFR. Others have had theirs replaced.

Should be replaced as its sub standard.

Ask FFR to replace it.

I am finishing my 20th Anniversary roadster. While it was still in gel coat, I washed it, prepping for a cruise-in.
In the bright day light, I could see pores in the plating, that were looking black. I had the car since late 2017, from a cancelled order, so figured it was on me. $800 to re plate both roll bars. The finish is another level above the original. Not an expense, I wanted to incur, but outcome, very nice.

Wow, 16 years later and FFR still has crappy chrome roll bars? Same deal for me many years ago. Somethings never change I guess. I went through two FFR bars before requesting a raw steel bar and having a third party chrome it.

Update: FFR is sending me a new one. I'm pleased to see FFR pull through with this.
