Hey, odd question here. Do any of you know if the tape on the Ron Francis harness is heat shrink electrical tape? The stuff is bomb proof, and I want to use a similar product for some of the mods I'm making to the harness.

Maybe look into this stuff.

Our application was on communications antenna connectors and it seals like no other tape I've ever used.
Don't expect to strip it off easily for wire repairs though.

Don't think so. Pretty sure it's regular black electrical tape. Scotch Super 33+ has a good reputation. Available at HD at elsewhere. Scotch Super 88 is similar but thicker. Also an HD item. Having said that, I use electrical tape when there aren't better options. But try to minimize to be honest. Much prefer heat shrink tubing. Especially the variety with adhesive inside. DelCity.net has a great variety and is a relatively good value in the longer sticks they sell. Don't buy the little baggies of a handful of pieces.

The stuff on the Ron Francis harness is the same as what Ford and other OEM's use on their harnesses. My coyote harness had the same stuff on it. It's non-adhesive vinyl tape, like this (https://www.americanautowire.com/shop/harness-tape). It's expensive stuff for what it is, but it really lets you wrap a harness neatly and achieve OEM results.

Agreed. That stuff works well to wrap over the convolute. I've used my share of that too where you don't need the adhesive type.
I'm a big fan of this tape. https://a.co/d/592FLdX

Thanks for all the info! I'll pick up some of what was recommended. I don't need much as I'm only adding a few things to the harness. And yes, only heat shrink tubing will be used for the actual electrical connections. This is only for the split-loom.
