View Full Version : Screws to hold on license plate
Since FFR does not provide them, and they do not mention it in the door stop, sorry I meant the assembly manual, can anyone tell me what size screws are needed?

I did not use the FFR rear license plate bracket.
It looked too flimsy, and I doubt if that has changed over the years.
There were a lot of owners that had the bracket fatigue and break, causing loss of the plate.
I simply drilled through the deck lid, and mounted the plate (with spacers) directly to the
trunk lid with 10-32 bolts.
Very secure and solid with no problems..

Actually Derald it has changed. It is now a part of the plate lamp assembly and is quite robust.
Rick, the same box that had the license plate lamp would have (should have) had the square inserts that snap into the plate bracket along with matching screws…like this:

If yours went missing over the years you can find them in the small parts “help” section at most any parts store.

Some all-weather 2 1/2" deck screws. :p
Jeff, thanks for the heads up. I searched through all the boxes and bins of parts that I accumulated over the years and couldn't find them, but I'll look again.
Rich, as usual, thank you for the suggestion. If I have a stroke this will be the method I go with!
With some deeper digging I think I found the screws for this use. They may not be the right ones, but they worked. Thanks guys. And just as a note Rich, they were just a tad shorter than the 2-1/2".
