I just finished my engine swap a week ago and took the car out to a car show this past Saturday. Put about 130 miles on it, engine runs good. Took it out Sunday and the throw out bearing is squealing. Oh goody. It is a brand new Tilton hydraulic throw out bearing.$369.00 I called Summit yesterday and told them it was squealing. The guy on the phone tells me there is no warranty on the part because it is considered a racing part or extreme abuse part. I said REALLY! Just as I was about to ask for his supervisor he said let me check something. He comes back a few minutes later and says they will ship a new one out yesterday. Which they did. I spent about $10,000 last year with them, which I don't know if that played a factor or not. It shouldn't. I went back onto the page that has the Bearing listed and looked for anything about a warranty. All the way at the bottom of the page the very last word on the page is the word warranty. It is not highlighted and one would not think the word itself would be anything that would open if you scrolled acrossed it. But it did and then it opens to tell you there is no warranty. But Summit did the right thing and sent out another one. Hopefully this one will last and the other one was a fluke. Everyone here knows how much fun pulling a trans in these cars are. My take away is Summit should have the warranty (or lack of) displayed a bit more prominently in the description so one can make a choice for a different product.
