Has anyone found a better option for the glove box latch? I don't like that I have to use a key to open it. I'd much rather have the option to lock it, or push button it open. I found something on Amazon, but it's just too big and ugly. I'd love to find a nice chrome push button with a small handle on it. If you have a great solution, please post a picture!
Thanks,

Several people (myself included) have used a latch from a 1953-1967 Volkswagen Beetle. Nice latch, and cheap and easy to source. It has a key if you want to lock it, but it can open with just a push of the button if left unlocked. The trickiest part for me was fabricating and adjusting the striker for it to latch.

Plus 1 on the VW latch, which Paul tipped me off to.

For the catch, I used a piece of steel rod and cut threads on the ends so I could use nuts to attach it to the glove box.

I went for a different option to get what you're after, but it was a bit more work than the VW latch. Kitchen pull, magnetic catch, separate lock.
