Participated in my first cruise and show&shine last weekend at Wheelin' Walla Walla. Friday night cruise was an absolute hoot and the cobra ran flawlessly. Cooling fan kicked on and kept water temps 210 or less.
Show&Shine was saturday and I won a judges choice trophy which was totally unexpected, but an awesome surprise. I had so much fun doing the whole thing!

Nice to see some impartial judging happening recently. Our cars were often overlooked by judges, in favor of hot rod/custom cars that someone in the same car cub owned.

Very nice. Congratulations. With all the car shows and events around here (SE Michigan) many of the organizers have switched to participant judging. No actual judges. It's kind of embarrassing to see grown men voting for all their buddies, stuffing the ballot box with unused ballots (I've been asked several times), all for $20 trophies that don't have any meaning. I go because I enjoy showing the car and talking to spectators. Awards from actual judged shows mean something.

Thanks everyone! 2 cobras (the other an ERA) and a FFR type 65 Daytona of another forum member also won trophies. Was a good showing. That Daytona btw was my favorite car n the show.

Nice grats!
Ya one thing I noticed at car shows too. Judges club cars win. Also, why do Corvettes always get their own category? Are they scared they'll loose if sorted into classic car, muscle car categories like every one else? I don't honestly care, but I find Corvette owners to be particularly funny. I go to have fun and see other cars and hopefully meet other locals with a Cobra. I have no delusions of winning with a very raced Challenge Car. Personally, I'd just like to park with the cars at the show and chat. I've no need to actually enter the contests :-)
