I picked up my kit on Tuesday (9/6) and first, I'd like to give the guys and gals at FFR a shout out. There were a great group to work with on pick up day. For those in the area, you know we've had a bout 3 months of NO rain... well it chose last Tuesday as the day for the skies to open up. Everyone there came together and we got creative as to how to load and stay dry-- a great experience!
I saw a recent post with some questions on hoisting the body so I thought I'd send along a few pictures of how I'm doing it. To my surprise it works beautifully. I'm able to remove and install the body solo, which makes my wife happy. The garage door still opens too (a nice bonus). I also wanted to show a picture of the completed frame paint job. I'm loving the grey color, especially with the start of the front suspension in place. Enjoy the pictures!172347172348172349

I hope the attachments work, I've not done this before in this forum.

Lookin' great! I love it you have enough height in your garage to store the body overhead.

I picked mine up during a random snow shower - we loaded up inside.

Great job on the frame! What did you spray it with?

Black gelcoat vs red? Depends on what material F5 has in stock?

Looking great! I'm at about the same point up in Kennebunk. Picked up the kit a bit before you, but had to pause for a kitchen reno plus some other Honey-Do's.

Hanging the IRS this weekend; very excited to have some time to get back to it!

Glad you got your Koni's with the kit; they're still on my POL list.

The MK4 kit is red gelcoat, the 289 kit is black gelcoat.

i got my car a month before you and the only thing i've done on my front suspension is my lower control arms and even they just have the bolts through them i didnt get the flanged nuts. also no upper control arms and no rivets i had to buy them on amazon so i could put those 2 panels on, so far i'm not very impressed.

I used POR15. Stinky stuff, but it sprays and dries nicely.

I'm hanging my IRS this weekend as well. A few of the rear suspension parts are on POL, but I have the big heavy stuff.
Had lunch in Kennebunk last weekend in Federal Jacks-- fun place.
