Mark III Body Cowl Question

Preparing to mount the body on the chassis. I was wondering "What members did to the cowl, in order for the dash fit correctly?" I measured between 3/4-7/8 inches of overhang. And I've read that in order for the dash screws (to the 3/4 x 3/4 dash hoop) to be inserted or removed the cowl needs to be trimmed. Therefore " How much overhang do I need?" Many Thanks.

I didn’t trim the cowl , I made a L bracket and mounted on the bottom of the dash loop that puts the dash screws below the body
