Howdy y'all, I've been lurking here for a few months, and it's finally time to get some input on my plan before pulling the trigger on my kit.

But before that, I'd like to thank Rsnake and edwardB for all the work they've done to document what it's like to embark on these builds and make it feel more accessible. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am an engineer and love a good challenge. So thank y'all for the in-depth Youtube build series and build thread respectively. It's been tremendous to walk through both of those. And of course, this extends to all the other forum member's builds I've had the joy of reading up on in the past few months. R

So now onto the build. Below is my preliminary plan for my FFR order and accompanying parts to round out the complete kit. I'll include the part numbers for my own documentation and to help others down the line. I already know there will be plenty of odds and ends to pick up along the way but I want to sanity check my planned configuration before I hit go. Also doesn't hurt to get some suggestions for upgrades to pick up as well.

FFR Type 65 Complete Kit Order

60744 - Powder coated chassis - Black
60312 - Coupe GPS Gauges (mph)
14222 - 4.6L/5.0L Coyote Mounts
60810 - J-pipes: 87-95 Mustang 5.0L donor*
34158 - Hydraulic Clutch Master Cylinder Kit
60375 - 31 spline driveshaft for 5.0L Coyote with T-56 Magnum transmission and 2015 IRS
12070 - Body Cut-outs
6325 - Black Vinyl Seats**
16473 - 5.0L Coyote Power Steering Kit
12066 - Standard Width Tubular Front Lower Control Arms
60737 - 2015 Mustang-based Independent Rear Suspension Kit with KONI coil-overs, tubular control arms, and CV axles
60378 - A/C - Heater-Defroster for 5.0L Coyote
60364 - Coupe Interior Carpet Package
60371 - Coupe Side Windows
16116 - Front Sway Bar
15998 - 205 IRS Rear Sway Bar
16863 - Coyote Install Kit
16668 - 2018 Mustang IRS 3.55 Center Section, Spindles, and Hubs

*I plan on going with the Gas-N headers and side pipes. They're not much more than what FFR offers and I think the aesthetics are worth the upgrade. Is there anything I'd need to make that work? Am I able to get the J-pipes credited off my order in that case?
**Also plan on upgrading here to a pair of aftermarket seats. Currently thinking Sparco EVO QRT's w/ matching Sparco harness but we'll see. I'll try to get the Black Vinyl Seats credited from the order.

Complete Kit Necessities

5.0L Gen 3 Aluminator Coyote - M-6007-A50NAB
Tremec T-56 Magnum (.63) - TUET11010
Tilton Hydraulic Throwout Bearing - 60-6104
Ford Pilot Bearing - M-7600-C
Ford Clutch Kit - M-7560-T46
Ford Lightweight Billet Flywheel - M-6375-M50
Ford Flywheel Bolts - M-6379-C
Ford Control Pack Coyote 5.0L Manual Transmission - M-6017-M50B
Ford Coyote Alternator Kit - M-8600-M50BALT
QuickTime Bellhousing - RM-8080
Pro-M Fuel Pump Hanger w/ Walbro Fuel Pump (GSS340BX)
Trick Flow TFS-23006 Fuel Filter
Breeze Automotive Fuel Pressure Regulator - 70756

So that's it, that's the plan....plus about a couple hundred other things to come up along the way. I haven't picked out wheel yet, but are there any blatant omissions? What are some suggestions on additional items to pick up while I'm waiting on the kit? Any and all help is appreciated, I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions along the way so thank you in advance.

Thanks,
Mike

Awesome build Mike, and congrats in taking the first step! They're about 7 months out right now so the earlier you put the order in the better. It takes 1-2 weeks from your online order for them to call and go over everything with you and they won't let you get steered wrong. That's what that phone call is actually... the techs go over your order for a sanity check and make sure there aren't any incompatibilities. As they say in their welcome video, "even as great as the online community is, we are your first and best resource."

That said, I did come across this, and since you're interested in a Coyote Coupe...

It's pretty inclusive but is not the "Aluminator" version. I don't pretend to know anything about Coyotes but I know that engine is 50% more money than the regular Gen 3 Coyote engine (the "-M50C" which is also an aluminum block and produces 460 hp/420 lb-ft). I believe the Aluminator versions just have upgraded rods and pistons. Not necessary of course if you're just running it at stock power levels and RPMs.

Thanks for the info. I was curious how long their queue time was and had the same thought. Sooner the better.

As for the bundle, I did come across this one during my research and based a lot of the choices of it. If I end up not going Aluminator, this is definitely high on the list of Plan B's.

Nice build plan. Looks familiar. And thanks for the shout out. Enjoy doing the build threads and always enjoy hearing about new builders getting value from them. Couple of random thoughts: The J-pipe adapters don't have a lot of value. Factory Five wasn't as flexible to delete things when I did my order now 5+ years ago. Maybe they will now. But don't expect much on those. As for the seats, I took the low back vinyl seats and used them for mock-up and planning my seat options. Then sold them for as much or more than the credit. Did the same on my truck build. In both cases, when unmounted and unused (basically NIB) they sold on the forum almost immediately. FWIW. The one major item missing on your Coyote setup is the low profile Moroso oil pan and pick-up tube. As you said, lots of minor things that you'll add along the way. But that's a significant one. Also, because of the design of the Gen 3 stock oil pan where the gasket and windage tray are integral to the pan, you'll need a Gen 2 gasket/windage tray. It's one piece and fits. Lots of discussion on the forum about alternate wheels other than the Factory Five ones. My Roadster and Coupe builds have had Factory Five wheels so not knowledgeable at all. Only to encourage really doing your homework regarding proper offsets and brake clearance.

You don't mention the planned use for your Coupe. The Aluminator is a nice upgrade over a standard Coyote. And has more headroom for upgrades down the road. But I will only say for our street cruising Coupe, the base Gen 3 Coyote is extremely strong and I don't come close to using all it has. And I haven't gotten any tickets yet. (Those two statements are related. :o)

Good luck with your build. We love our Coupe. Turned over 5,000 miles a couple weekends ago and it's always a blast to take out and gets tons of attention. Just be ready with your "what is it?" explanation.

Appreciate the ordering tips. I can see how having a pair of seats on hand would be useful and will have to think about it further. Especially if I go off script and change from a known good seat config.

Knew I was forgetting something from this list. I have the Moroso Oil Pan, Pickup, and gasket written down somewhere in my notes. I'll make sure to add them once for the build thread.

I forget which thread I saw it in but "trackable street car" was a nice turn of phase and probably my end goal. With a few tracks here in Texas and Circuit of the Americas not too far away, it'd be nice to take her out there a few times a year and have a little fun. I think eating the bit extra for the Aluminator now so I have that headroom later is the move. Can't justify the 5.2XS though, as much as I'd like to lol

I would suggest that when you order your kit, go ahead and order your engine/trans and also put in your Gas-N order. I have seen these are about 6 months out (due to material limitations), and it tracks with the order I currently have for roadster sidepipes that I placed a bout 1.5 months ago.

You may want to ask Factory Five how the 3.55 center they sell is configured. I don't know as I've never bought one from them...but if you want a Torsen I would confirm that's what they're selling. It may be track-lok, open, etc.
