Does anyone have any completed pictures of a roll bar without the third leg? Particularly a thicker rollbar that is either 2" or 1.75" thick. I am considering not installing the third leg but would like some feedback and see what it looks like.
thanks in advance,
Ted

No photos but the Breeze bars a 1.75" and arrive without the 3rd leg attached. As for feedback, I assume that you already know that without a 3rd. member the structural integrity bar will be greatly reduced.

Henry (65 Cobra Dude) did one a few years back:

I saw that car before he sold it and it was crazy.

Yes indeed. I purchased the Breeze kit and just love it, but haven't done the weld yet as I am waiting to bring to Ken Pike for paint and final assembly.

I have the Breeze bar (w/third leg) and I like it so much better than the paperclip FFR supplies.

No 3rd leg takes it from a roll bar to a piece of trim.

They call those a “style bar” ;)

Is there any way to lower the height of the FFR roll bar?
I've seen pics, and I don't want mine a foot above my head. (I'm 5'9")

I lowered mine about 1.5" by grinding the spot welds off so that the bars would bottom out on the frame...Taking this action caused the 3rd leg to look a little goofy (angle not perfect) but I was okay with it...My biggest fear was the bolts sheering off in the event of a roll over. With the bars flat on the frame and the bars being cross bolted (90 degrees opposing) my comfort level improved.
I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and it looks pretty good, except for that leg angle, but you need to look for it.

Before you lower it, remember that if you ever need it, you'll be hanging upside down in your harness, not sitting in the seat.

That's good to know, thank you. I plan on building a custom tonneau cover of sorts out of reinforced fiberglass that will use both roll bars for support (and the windshield). From the pics I've seen the roll bars stick up way too high for it to look level.
I see the point of the broomstick test, but I'll never be on a track with it. Regardless it'll still be higher than the top of my head. I'm only looking for a couple inches of drop.

just an FYI, you can still get the original 2" bars from FFR in your kit if you dont like the 1.5" ones . . . . at least as of December last year you could. i also wanted a bar with more size
