Saw these on an ERA, friggin’ awesome. Miss driving mine these past few years. :( Really wish FFR would work with CT DMV so our cars are recognized as FFR 65 Roadster, rather than ‘composite’. Can’t get classic plates under the composite nomenclature so far, therefore (was) abused on annual property taxes. This taxation makes owning a replica unaffordable.

Hi Jay,
I've been meaning to reach out to you to see if there has been any progress made on the CT registration issue. I'm guessing not. Wish me luck, I'm probably 3 or 4 months away from registration. I'm hoping I get lucky, like others have, and get a DMV person that doesn't know the law and issues me the classic plates.

Hey Tony - couple of guys have gone through recently, got 1965 registration, but no classic plates.
The CT car club council sent a letter to DMV, but hasn’t heard back.
I was corresponding with DMV legal earlier this summer. I got nowhere with the first person, who rudely stated composite vehicles are never eligible for classic plates, even after 20 years. I educated her on her own statutes, and asked her to escalate to her supervisor, who got involved. The supervisor said to give her a few weeks to review it, which was around Memorial Day. I’ve followed up several times, now no response at all.
I don’t know where to go from here. I feel powerless, and certainly taken advantage of.
Here’s a bit of calibration for ya: 3 years of property tax in Middletown is equivalent to the cost of that dual supercharger.
Keep us posted on your journey.
