Hey all,

I'm using the FFMetal firewall forward kit and Mike Forte's triple reservoirs with mounting bracket. Any recommendations around where on the firewall would be best? Mainly, looking for it to be high enough so it's above the master cylinders but not have the access obstructed once the body is on. If anyone has a similar setup and can save me the trouble of putting the body back on just to check, that would be great :)

I have the Firewall forward kit and Mike's triple reservoir. But mounted the reservoir on the rail in front of the box.171867

If you haven’t yet, check out the i.e.427 YouTube video, I think it’s something like “let it bleed”, he shows how and where he mounted a set and it came out very nice. I’ll be doing the same install with the same reservoirs.

Looks like mounting in front of the footbox is a good way. I was concerned about clearing the body sideways, but that bracket ie427 made works great and is straightforward to make. Thanks everyone!

If you're not into the video thing and have access to facebook, you can follow us there. We generally update every day. Here are some still pics of Mike's reservoirs and our fabricated mounting bracket.

1) preference between Forte and Scott's Hotrod triple?

2) Does everyone make a bracket or is there one to purchase? Not much of a fabricator here...yet?

I haven't tried the other ones, as far as bracket, not much fabrication. Get a 1 to 2" aluminum angle at home depot and cut to length, drill some holes and done.

I have the black scotts hot rods tripple and happy with it. In hindsight I'd probably order the larger one though.. they're smaller than you think.

I have the Scott's and it's a very nice unit. I like it as you can make connections from either the side or the bottom. It's not bad cost-wise either.

I just used the 2 Factory Five units (brake, clutch) and bought another to separate the rear and front brakes. My cost was $67 for the extra reservoir. I think it turned out pretty good.

Spacing from footbox, in case you need it:

You want to make sure you clear the hood strut.

Yes, helpful as I have been seeing the 12" rule a lot lately as I search stuff.

Thanks,

I also bought the Scott's triple reservoir, but I followed a location and layout I first saw on DANW's graduation thread.
I liked that the look was cleaner, although is was a slow process to slowly cut the complex angles and the file the fit to where I wanted it.
