View Full Version : Standard Oil Filter vs Remote with Electric PS?

I've been fighting the remote oil filter with leaks from the adapter itself. I currently have it removed and running the oil filter off the engine itself. But I also have the electric PS removed as well temporarily. It seems with a lower profile say 4" tall filter I could keep it on the engine. The standard size oil filter is ~ 5.5" tall for the SBF.

Has anyone found a shorter profile oil filter they are using off the engine rather than remote with the electric PS?

I tend to think of removing potential points of failure and the remote filter adds a bunch of those.

This is what I'm going with on my Boss 302 with shorty headers and PS, may work in your application. Filter is 3.98" tall.

Thanks John, I like that. I picked up a shorter filter at O'Reilly's that looks like it might fit but your solution is a good backup for me.

I have a 347 and the electric PS. The oil filter doesn't interfere with the PS but longer ones do interfere with the frame. I use the PH16 oil filter form factor to be able to change the filter without having to move the engine....
