Hey all, been through all the build threads I could find about various blue's out there. Went through the pictures from the Goodwood Festival in 2015 and imagine all the cars were painted the same -

Is this Guardsman Blue?

If it is Guardsman, is there a "named blue" that is slightly darker than in these pictures (perhaps royal blue)? Doing research it seems there was Ford Guardsman which was darker than Shelby Guardsman...

I like the blue on the Daytona at Factory Five, but too dark...would like a blue closer to the Daytona's at Goodwood, just a shade darker

Wimbledon white will be my white. Wheels and Pipes...

Appreciate any input!

Read an article by Pete Brock and met him at the Simeon museum. He mentioned Viking blue being the original color.

Yes Viking blue was the original color in 1964 for the coupe…which is clearly lighter than this color that all 6 of the original coupes were painted in for the 2015 Goodwood festival. I doubt it's photo processing but I'm sure these are not Viking, I believe these to be Guardsman but hoping someone would know...these look great to me in pictures from the 2015 Goodwood Festival...

John - thanks for that post. The Shelby American website give a detailed history on each car and those coupes in my original post are Guardsman blue. Confirms what I read elsewhere where they used Viking blue in 1964 for the Cobras and Coupes, and Guardsman blue in 1965 for the cars. Great photos BTW, I need to get out there.
