View Full Version : Heated seat button wire routing

I'm installing heated seats. I have extra holes in the dash now not used, I'm going to mount the two switches there. The question is how to get the wires to the seat. The carpet is glued down so no real way to route it. Do you drill and go under the car or through the tunnel or something?
What has everyone else done? I need the dash to fill the holes plus for the acc power, I dont want to accidentally leave one on and kill the battery.

Wire them to a hot when ignition on circuit. Not a always hot circuit.
Mine are in with the harness that runs to the rear of the car in the tunnel. Then they come into the cockpit low on the tunnel just behind the seat through a grommet.

I'm actually facing the same question as Abomination. Avalanche325 - did you just cut into the harness then? The wires coming off the switch seem awfully short to allow the wires to be properly run down to the seat positions if the buttons themselves are up near the dash.

I used the heater wire for a switched power source (I don't have a heater installed). Similar to Avalanche325, I ran wires down the inside of the transmission tunnel and mine exit low in the rear angled panel through a grommet behind the seat. I kept the relays behind the dash and made wire extensions between the seat plugs. Some keep the relays under the seats instead. Dealers choice.
