Hi Everyone
I am on the tail end of buttoning up my body buck. It is built and I need to find out where to raise to the ceiling. One thing that would be very helpful. A few dimensions.
1. How much space is there from the front of the body buck and the front end of the nose? In inches
2. How much space is there from the back of the body buck and the back of the car? In inches
This will help me figure out where the buck/body will fit in my garage, high, and tight to the ceiling! I plan on placing two 2x4x10 across my ceiling attached to the ceiling joist and I will hang the body buck from that.
I hope this makes sense. Let me know. Thx, Tom

If you want to hang the body from the ceiling, you don't really need the buck. I used wide cushioned hook in the wheel wells, hung from my ceiling for over 3 yrs

Hi Rich. I built a buck and included a shelf. Knowing the distance from the end of the buck to the front and back will help. Thx Tom

These aren't the most precise but maybe they will help you. My buck is 97" long (front to back vertical panel). The furthest point on the back of the body hangs 31" beyond the buck, and 25" at the front. The positioning of the body, for me at least, on the buck is not exactly precise, it can slide back and forth a bit and still rest comfortably on it.

Yes. Very helpful mladen. Mine is 97.5” long. I’ll give myself a 36” buffer to the closest spot and I should be good. Thx for the information. Tom

Hi Tom,
I pick up my kit next week and will be hoisting my body to be stored above my work area (I'm lucky to have 14' ceilings). I made my front and back pull points adjustable as I too am not sure of the dimensions. When I get my body raised and stashed against the ceiling, I'll take measurements and send them along with some pictures. Best guess is I'll have info for you by Thursday or Friday next week. If you see nothing posted, I'll either be pinned beneath a giant piece of red fiberglass, or even worse, I'll have abandoned the hoist and it will be sitting in my wife's parking space (being pinned under red fiberglass would be preferable to that last scenero...).

Let’s go with option 3 and the body swinging from the ceiling and everyone happy. I decided to move the body above the part of my garage where my tools and workbench area are. I have more space there and I am good to go. I hope to rig up this weekend.
Good luck with your kit. That is very exciting. Tom
