I have a couple of questions for an install with coyote gen 3 wherein I'd like to have the coyote computer control the engine fan:
1. There is a thick orange wire that comes out of the computer harness that says 'blunt cut / cooling fan' - where does this attach?
2. Page 45 of the coyote chassis wiring harness installation manual says to cut one of the fuse wires and spice in something - is this applicable for a coyote computer that will run the fan?

The Coyote control pack orange fan wire goes directly to the positive terminal of the cooling fan. Depending on how you route it, you will likely need to splice an additional length of wire to reach that far. This is assuming you want the Coyote PCM to control the cooling fan. That part of the Ron Francis instructions is for a generic EFI installation and doesn't apply to the Coyote if you wire the cooling fan directly from the Coyote control pack harness. You won't use the cooling fan relay or circuit in the Ron Francis fuse panel for your setup. Unless installing A/C, but you don't mention that. The Coyote PDB has the relay and fuses that easily handle the load.
I hope you're using the Factory Five Coyote installation instructions? https://www.factoryfive.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Coyote-Gen-3-Fitment-roadster-rev-1G.pdf. Along with the Ford Performance instructions.

First of all - thanks for the link to a more recent coyote gen 3 install manual! for some reason that wasn't available when I started my build - hopefully will be more accurate.
Second - I AM doing A/C in the car - does this change how to use the orange wire or Ron Francis fan wires?
Also, you mentioned Ford Performance instructions - not sure I have these? Where do you get them?
Thanks for much!!

This is where you should always look for Factory Five instructions, including the most recent versions: https://www.factoryfiveparts.com/instructions/
You should have received instructions for your Gen 3 Control Pack with the box of parts from Ford Performance. Also available on their website: https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/instructionsheets/FORDINSTSHTM-6017-M50B.PDF
So installing A/C does change things up a bit. I won't try to explain all the details here. They should be in your A/C instructions. Summary is you will still have the Coyote control pack orange wire control the fan based on engine temperature. So you'll still have the orange wire to the positive side of the cooling fan. With A/C, you'll also use the Ron Francis cooling fan relay and circuit with the fan thermo switch wire to the A/C trinary switch. So you'll also need the Ron Francis fan power wire connected to the positive side of the cooling fan. Resulting in fan being triggered by either the PCM for engine cooling or the trinary switch for A/C system pressure.

Thank you - that was super helpful. I don't think I would have pulled that together from the various manuals! I feel like I owe you some beer and pizza for responding to so many of my posts, so if you're ever in the north Austin TX metro give me a shout!
