I currently have an SLC, still under work so haven’t driven it a ton. However it’s always cumbersome to get in and out of. Even at 33yr old it’s still a pain in the ***. Has anyone sat in both a GT40 and Coupe? I know there are many more Gt40 than SLC so figure chances are higher. The coupe looks much reasonable for a interior space standpoint, also I’m sure the ride quality is better as well. Would you daily drive it?

FWIW, I did 60k daily miles in my GT40 replica, and I didn't find it cramped at all (6ft, 240lbs). More "fitted". But the biggest advantage it has are the doors, being cut out of the roof. It's super easy to stand on the seat and slide on in. I've never seen SLC uyp close, but it appears similar in that the door includes some of the roof?

I recently saw a coupe up close and didn't even consider trying to crawl through the little door hole.. but again, when you live with something you find little tricks to make things easier.

I built an early coupe and I would say the ride quality with the independent rear wasn't bad. I have never owned a GT40 although I have driven one several times. Entry and exit are easier in the coupe, but a lot has to do with your size. I'm 6'-2", 240 pounds and I fit in the coupe without much of a problem. Biggest concern I had was the roll cage was very close to my head with the stock seats. Getting out is a little more difficult than getting in (I was in my early 60's when I had the coupe) but easier than trying to climb over the large door sill of the GT40. Headroom was about the same but rear visibilty is a lot less in the GT40, My impressions.

I've been in and driven both. 5'8" 170#. I found both comfortable once in. I didn't find either "easy" to get in or out of but nothing insurmountable.

More of a concern is the front & rear vision. Didn't think the coupe was bad, the GT40 was great forward, although you're just looking at the bumper of the car ahead. Do you have toll booths that you need to toss change into? The GT40 windows are little sliders and the door probably won't open far enough. You're not going to go through the ATM with the GT40.

Another issue with the GT40 is height. Don't ride next to trucks, they won't see you.

The coupe is probably a better daily driver. Certainly, more storage room.

Yes the SLC doors do have an advantage, they go up sort of Lambo style. So plenty of room. The door sill is large like the gt40, not as big though. I have to remove the steering wheel to get in and it is super low to the ground. Visibility is good with the rear camera mounted high.

Ya visibility must be better with the rear glass so large, I think I will install a camera up top anyways with rear view.

Yes that is a huge plus of the coupe is storage room, plenty for a few bags it looks like.

My biggest qualm with the SLC or GT is the transmissions. Currently have a 996 transaxle that hates to go into 2nd and is incredibly short. What I love about the coupe is being able to drop in a complete LS3 setup with Tr6060 or Tr56. I simple hate shifting the SLC at times with the cable shifter, sometimes gears are hard to find etc. It also has rod end links that have zero bushings, makes for a creaky ride.

How many people are carrying a spare in the back of the coupe? That would cut down a lot on space.

6'2", 190lbs here

The GT40 depends on who made it. Some have a larger foot well that extends under the dash and some have 2 tiny foot boxes that disappear into the nose and that feels very claustrophobic to me.
Additionally, the height is a problem. Even with the bubble, my head doesn't clear the door in my friend's GT (made by Active Power Cars in Ohio).

The Gen3 Type65 on the other hand reminds me of my old C6 Corvette. Two decent seating areas with decent amounts of room and a big hatch in the rear for a day trip or overnight somewhere with sheltered parking.
