View Full Version : Suspension bushings - cut grooves for effective grease distribution?

Hey, I’ve been a long time gone from the forums, but am now working on a partially built Mk4. The PO already assembled the suspension, looks like the standard FFR black poly bushings all around. As I remember, these bushings do not take grease very effectively, & need to be grooved or have channels cut to allow grease to spread from the grease gun fitting. I couldn’t find any discussion in my search. Any guidance or experience from you all on this concept? I’m hating the ideas of taking everything apart, but what else can you do?! Thanks for any help

i'd apply grease and see if you can see seepage, if you do, then you're fine

The bushings don't actually touch in the middle where the grease fitting is so the grease has access to the sleeves. What Toadster said.
