Now that I am driving the car more starting to feel the leg pain of the cable clutch set-up. Given this I am thinking about getting the Forte fork extender and I am currently running a t5 trans. installing this would most likely mean permanently removing the dust shield that goes over the cables on the trans. Those that are running this have you seen any premature wear on the clutch or flywheel with this area being exposed to dust and water? Also is it worth the money? I don't want to do a hydraulic set-up but would like the clutch to engage a little easier. Thank you all in advance for the advice.

Using the effort reducer and the Ford OEM clutch cable and it's like butter. Using a TKO so can't speak to the dust shield. My own $.02 is if you are using the FF cable, ditch it and try the ford cable before adding the effort reducer. The Ford cable is THAT much better.

Agreed that the OEM Ford cable is the best....Mike Forte sells a 2-pack for a reasonable price.

And (an old chinese saying) .... if you have a spare of anything, you will never need it.

The pedal effort reducer does reduce the effort, but the length of pedal travel is increased.

The dust cover is nice to have but not necessary......I do not use it.

HINT: If you are using a fox donor pedal box, get a clutch pedal height adjuster from Maximum Motorsports.

They work great, and are simple to install, even on a completed car.

It does nothing to change the effort, put the clutch pedal can be aligned with the brake pedal

Great timing! I just received the Forte's clutch pedal reducer and was about to install it. Was wondering the same about the dust cover.

Have the part for about 6 years. Have not seen any problem with the lack of a dust cover.

I installed the effort reducer on a TR-3650 many years ago. It was an improvement, but maybe only about 20% better in my case. Although the original cover no longer fit, I made up my own out of a scrap sheet metal. Not difficult and it gave me a little bit of peace of mind. That said the car lived in SoCal most of its life, so not much chance of getting water in there either.
