1st Start was today which was great!

While it lasted... because after around 10 mins the coolant began to leak a bit and then we noticed and turned it off. seconds later the lower hose just popped off and leaked coolant.

Our upper hose is a bit slanted as our BP347 has a vertical coolant tube so we can't get the fill cap at the highest point. Could this make it so that we had air in the system and this caused some pressure and made the hose come off?

Any ideas? Much appreciated!

Edit: I've done some research and I've heard of other guys using some stainless steel screws to put into the end of the hose to create a bead, I think this seems worthwhile, thoughts?

This kit helps for burping the cooling system... definitely want to get all the air out of the system.

What clamps are you using? I am a fan of the T-bar style over the worm drive. The T-bar really puts a tight hold on the hose, so far after 4k miles have had no issues with them leaking or loosening up.

Yes, you need to get all the air out of the system. Check and refill the expansion tank after every heat cycle for 10 or so times.

I used stainless pop rivets to prevent the hose from slipping off. Also used the stainless t-bar clamps, which are wider and do a very good job of providing consistent pressure/clamping force all around. 4 years, all good.

Best advice----get rid of the corrugated flex pipe

Best advice----get rid of the corrugated flex pipe

I know some are not fans of this tubing, but mine has not caused a single issue in 16 years.

Some guys will tell you that the rubber hoses blow off of the corrugated tubing and to get rid of it (one of the few things that my buddy Rich and I disagree on ;)). You can keep that from happening by simply adding three or four 1/4" long stainless steel oval head sheet metal screws around the perimeter to create sort of a bead at the end of the corrugated hose

Once the rubber hose/coupler is slipped over and the clamp tightened (plain ol' garden variety screw type) there's no way it's gonna' come off. Speaking of the couplers---silicone the hose bushing/adapter thingies to the inside of the couplers when you use them.

I crimped the hose with a set of channel locks so that it can’t pull lose. 3,000 miles with no issues.

I followed this advice and I've never had an issue at all. Well, that one time before I did this!

But Jeff looking at that is worse than Dolly Parton with no makeup.

Rich - I've enjoyed your very dry commentary for years.

That said ... if you notice Dolly with no makeup ... I'd suggest you are surveying the wrong area.

Just sayin'

Go Pokes.

Have used the Breeze lower & F150 upper since the car was built. No issues with either.
