House of Kolor Organic Green on top of Galaxy Grey basecoat.

Here's a video of the color from the Mecum auction. Anyone here use HOK paints before? My painter is familiar with laying it down but I thought I'd ask how it's held up over time, etc.

Forte's 427 will hopefully be here this month and I'm looking at October to send it to the paint shop.

Although not a tri-coat candy it is a somewhat translucent basecoat so the final color will vary depending on the color of the groundcoat that it is sprayed over. You could get a ghost stripe effect by doing stripes in a bright silver over the Galaxy grey prior to the green. With a good clear it will hold up fine.

Not sure.....I've got the oversized hood vents and unsure yet of whether I'll even use a hood scoop. More to follow!!

Thanks Jeff, your comment is very valuable. If I could get in earlier I'd bring it to you!

My brother in law owns the body shop, we're still discussing but he advises he usually stays in the HOK family for all the materials.

For me - and Jeff Kleiner will back this up - choosing the color was the hardest part of the build. Congrats on your choice! It will look wonderful!

Agreed. I originally was going with chome and a Destoryer gray. Asked the wife to weigh in, she kinda put it off until she saw most of the build done. Then suddenly, she wanted blacked out with green.

Wonder how many folks have had that experience with their significant other (co-owner)?

However, the greens came and went until she saw the HOK Organic Green with the gray basecoat. These are ALL good problems to have :-).

Nice! IMHO, one of the hardest parts of the build. As a buddy told me….”there’s the wow factor. But, 10 yrs down the road, you need to still smile when you walk in the garage!”

That’s going to look great. I like the ghost strips suggestion.
