Can anyone suggest where I can find an appropriate replacement steering wheel hub for a Mk4? I'm pretty sure I was short shipped one (I'm waay past the 30 day POL claim) and I'm thinking I can get one somewhere less expensive than what F5 may charge. I did get the 6 screws and the center alum logo disc, and the bolt and washer on the end of the steering shaft, just not the hub.

Notwithstanding any comments about the importance of doing the inventory... Have you contacted Factory Five? Sometimes they are more lenient than the 30 day limit suggests. 99.9% sure it's a custom part. Don't think you have a choice but to get it from them. Even if you have to pay for it.

I'd contact FFR. I think I saw a recent post where the builder noticed that the steering wheel wasn't even listed on their inventory list.
They'll make it right. I had a headlight switch that was broken out of the box and they shipped a new one, and this was over a year after I had received the kit. Same with a leaky rear brake caliper.

Mystery solved... I think. I had ordered the black leather steering wheel upgrade (and paid the hefty uplift for it). I suggested to F5 that I should have also received the standard wood wheel since it is part of the (also paid for) complete kit. Nope, doesn't work that way. I think the boss was somehow left out in processing the upgrade order when the standard wheel was flagged to not be included. I wonder if anyone else who ordered the optional leather wheel was missing the boss. And you're correct edwardb, the boss is pretty much unique to the wheels F5 offers.
I'm sure I caused my inventory problem(s) by not fully understanding what I was looking at in some cases when I opened all the boxes and tried to match the parts to the descriptions.

I bought the leather wheel and received the boss also.

I agree that the best play is to get one from Factory Five, and I'm also confident they will take care of you.

If for some reason you need it fast, you could look at the quick release hub that Mark @ Breeze Sells. It does require being welded or broached to the shaft though.

Never had an issue getting shorted parts after 30 days. Give them a call.

From my limited dealings I suspect they have a lot of young/new people in shipping/parts. And of course as a company they're trying to manage a lot of growth which I know isn't easy. I kind of wonder if they do the Apple deal, don't pay all that well but it's a really cool place for a young guy to work at. Then they become addicted to food and rent and have to move on.

My POL list wasn't long or bad at all and my MIK wasn't very long. I have to say they were really on the ball with getting the MIK parts shipped out. About half of the POL list I didn't need so I sent them a list of what I did and did not need. Completely ignored it. After over a month Dave L got it sorted for me. Because I'm running the pin drive front suspension I need 94/95 SN95 spindles & hubs. From FFR they're $699, I was able to source them for a lot less so I had them removed from my list. Guess what showed up yesterday? Anyone need a new set of SN95 spindles? I've gotten a lot of other parts double and even triple shipped.

My point of this is right now at least they don't seem completely organized so I'm sure going back with a missing part request isn't going to be a problem for you.

If FF sent you something in error that you didn't pay for, do the right thing and let them know. It's happened to me a few times. They emailed a prepaid shipping label and back they went. I've also had a couple items they didn't want back due to the shipping cost. But it was their decision.

I have let them know. So far they do don't want anything back. It's mostly small stuff.

I have one I'll sell for $25.00 + shipping. It's used, but in very good condition. I removed it from my car when I converted to the Russ Thompson turn signal.
