Greetings All…just ordered my roadster kit last week. Diving into some of my build options, and want to look at my wheel options. Is there a thread with some of the common non-FFR wheels people have used? Still looking to go with 17s.

Thanks!

Duke

I wasn't able to find a comprehensive thread when I tried about a year ago, but from what I've gathered by reading various posts the popular 17" options are 1994-2004 era mustang wheels. I personally went with a Mustang Bullitt style wheel by SVE. 9" wide in the front and 10.5" wide in the back. Looks pretty good IMO:

Here's the link where I got it from: https://lmr.com/item/WTK-N1007SBA/1994-04-Mustang-Anthracite-Deep-Dish-Bullitt-Wheel-Tire-Kit

WORD OF CAUTION, If you're not using wilwood rear brakes you can skip this part: The wilwood brake hit for FFR roadsters came with e-brake calipers that didn't clear the inside wheel-well. When I bought the wheels I made sure the normal brake calipers cleared it, but didn't expect the e-brake calipers to not clear. I had to grind off a big portion of the e-brake caliper. I detailed this process in post #104 of my build thread (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?40301-Danny-Boy-s-Roadster-Build-Dashboard-wiring-fusebox-spacing-and-COLOUR&p=478320&viewfull=1#post478320) as well as another thread that specifically talks about the issue: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?41682-Wilwood-Parking-Brake-Clearance-Issue

If you plan on 15" wheels and Wilwoods, there are brake rotor considerations you have to make, let us know and someone can explain.

These wheels fit. So between these and FFRs you have plenty of specs to match to any wheel you might want to try.

Rears- https://www.americanmuscle.com/dedibuwh.html
For both scroll down to tech specs. AmM has many different styles and colors available and they are inexpensive.

1 good place to check out wheels is the Picture of the Month section. Lots of nice combos there.

Are you looking at all options? Something more 60s classic or much more on the modern style?

I looked at wheels for a LONG time and ended up going with the 25th anniversary wheels from FFR. They don't sell them anymore so that's not really helpful. Unless money isn't an option and you want to get them from billet specialties.
