I'm wondering if my Gen 3 Coyote with Moroso oil pan has the dipstick interference issue. I read posts from years ago where Gen 2 Coyote builders had to drill out/clearance the Moroso pan to avoid interference with the dip stick. Here's one example: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?27777-Shark92651-s-MK4-Coyote-Build-9327-Graduated!!&p=320616&viewfull=1#post320616

Obviously, being able to accurately read oil level is critical. However, I haven't read much about this issue from Gen 3 Coyote builders using the Moroso pan. Does anyone know if this is still a concern?

About two years ago I ordered my Coyote and TKO from Forte. It arrived fully assembled, so I don't know if dip stick clearance was verified (or if it even needed to be verified). I filled it with 8.75 quarts, and have run the engine through a number of full heat cycles. When the engine is cold, my oil level registers on the factory dip stick, but below the lower hole.

When I insert the dip stick, it noticeably comes into contact with something about when there's about 4.5 inches left before it's fully seated. This happens regardless if I rotate the dip stick 180 degrees. It doesn't take much pressure to get past this contact point. For comparison, I checked a couple daily drivers, and they also have some degree of contact as the dip stick travels through bends in the tube.

I can easily add another quart to see if my oil level rises accordingly, but before I do was curious if this is still a thing other builders are encountering. Because the oil pan capacity is around 8 quarts, and the Mobil M1-113A oil filter can't hold much more than 1/2 quart, I'm a little reluctant to just keep adding oil. Why would it take 10 quarts of oil to reach the top hole on the dipstick?

I suspect that interference you're feeling is where the dipstick has to turn a corner a bit to get into place. The interference problem was fixed by Moroso long before your two-year-old pan. I'd be really surprised if that's still happening on yours. Both my Coyote builds with the Moroso pan (Gen 2 and Gen 3) I put in 9 quarts including filling the oil filter before spinning into place. Then run, let it settle, and typically had to add a tad more to get to the full mark.
