Good morning everyone:

Grettings from Fleming Island, Florida!

Growing up I did have a Cobra 427, 1965 poster on my room door and allways wanted to have one, without the resources to own an original....opted for the next best thing: a Factory Five Racing MK IV.

Back in May 2020 and after getting the "blessing" from my wife I started planing the build.
To test if I did have what it takes to complete the challenge, I started building the parts needed for the car before ordering the kit. Here is a timeline for the "mayor" events:

- June 2020, purchased and rebuilt a Ford 8.8 rear end: new everything, 3.53 ratio.
- August 2020, I was lucky to procure a brand new 302 HO Ford block (in the original box) that was in somebody garage for 29 years. With it, the decision to build the engine was taken.
Balanced rotating assembly from Eagle Rods, alumimun heads from AFR, COMP Cams camshaft, etc.
- September 2020 ordered the complete kit from Factory Five.
- October 2020, engine was completed and got a new T5Z transmission.
- January 2021, engine first start on a test bench borrowed from a friend who was a racer.
- February 2021, took delivery of the kit (144888)
- July 2021, first start in the chassi and go kart ride.
- Novenber 2021, assembly completed, few rides around the neighborhood to test it.
- December 2021, took all accesories out, next step: paint!

Don't want to bore you with more details, but it took several months to get a paint shop after the original that was scheduled to start the paint job in January backed out.
Finally! got the car back from the paint shop in May and drove it as a completed project in June.

It's been a very fun project and hope to have it street legal soon to start enjoying without looking on the mirror.........

Best Regards:

Juan Carlos

Wow looks great!

It’s funny how different people are.
Some have 500 posts to the forums and they’re just finishing inventory, ( ok I exaggerate) and then others are complete, minus tags, with one post.
There’s definitely no right or wrong way that’s for sure,
She’s a beauty!
