Mike ordered a World Products block for me when the Ford Boss blocks became unavailable for the 427 he is building for me.

He subsequently found a Boss block for me but still has the World Products block. Do some research and you'll find that these blocks are some of the best to build horsepower, way more HP than we need in these cars but it was the only block we could find.

So if you're in your "undetermined" wait time from other manufactures, you can jump ahead here and call Mike and get your motor built.

Good luck.

Is it an aluminum block or steel?

Cast Iron. If you're not racing (which I'm not) aluminum or cast iron didn't' matter to me. These blocks are generally used for much higher horsepower configurations than we would need (thick walls, each cap is 4 bolt) but if you have a choice between "indefinite" or available it may work for you.

I may be wrong but the WP block is 200lbs and the Boss Block (aluminum) is 175lbs.

I noticed the 351w based ones are not for sell. He still sells them....just have to call him?

Forte's, like most places, can't find the aftermarket blocks. Ask anyone here who has delt with Mike....call him he will do what he can with what he has.

I've seen him pull a rabbit out of his hat a few times!

I built my engine with this block, it's a nice platform to start with especially if you plan to go with a stroker

I think people think that the non aluminum blocks will slow you down. These blocks are typically used for 1500+HP builds. I would have been completely satisfied with the block but the Ford Boss fits my lower end 427 engine needs better.

I figure one of these engine guys that are waiting a year for the engine delivery or in the case of BP 427 "undetermined" date, they would jump on this option. But that's only my .02cents.

Someone should have Mike build a 462 from that block. The big ones work really well. I have two friends with 460+ SBF, very nice to drive but really a Jekyll & Hyde. All's nice and comfy until you feed it that strange chemical composition, then it's smoke and noise.
500 rwhp is easy.
